Birthday Party for Big and Fun Activities for All
Our kids had a fun-filled day with many new friends on Saturday 29 March at Camillian Home. Wattanaporn “Posh” Sodasoi and her kind friends bought lunch for the kids and lots of happiness. It was just perfect because our resident boy Big was also celebrating his 8th birthday so Eve M.J. Lee prepared a nice ice cream cake for him. Big has been such a brave boy since he had surgery for his legs a few months ago. He still has 2 more months of bed rest left to go. Last week when his friends went to Mega Bangna, he wished them well, saying, “It’s okay! We will celebrate my birthday next week so you can go without me.”
Posh also hired Project Dek-D to do an art project with the kids. They painted mugs and baked them in the oven so each kid had their very own customized drinking mug! Mouy, whose dream is to become an art teacher painted her signature flower with curly petals and wrote the word “Love” on her mug.
“I really had a wonderful time with the kids at Camillian Home. Children really are like pieces of white cloth, pure and innocent. I wish my visit could bring some good fun and laugh to them. They are all great kids, willing to learn new things and cheerful. Those kids are just amazing. They are talented, I’d love to buy their hand-made products again. All volunteers and staffs there were fantastics too. I’m really impressed. I will definite go back to visit the kids and their little shop again,” said Posh.
All the kids were so happy to be surrounded by people who came to spend precious time with them. Our kids also got to see their friend Richard, a long-time supporter of Camillian Home who has taken the kids out to fun places like Dream World.
Lunch time was great. The kids and their new friends enjoyed a buffet lunch with Thai food, pizza, and KFC. All the children came down to join in and celebrate Big’s birthday together. They already had a special homemade som tam lunch at their usual lunch hour (11am), but little Fahsai with her healthy appetite also ate some pizza! Our birthday boy Big had a total of three birthday cakes donated by our friends Alain, We Do Asia, and Eve. He had a lot of candles to blow out!
Big was lucky to have so many people come to celebrate his birthday with him! Kay and Marc and their painter friends from Ruamrudee International School were also at the Home painting their mural for Camillian Home so they got to share this special day with our kids too.
Finally the group of friends went to Camillian Home’s 2nd Hand Boutique shop which just opened on Saturday. It was the first time for the kids to see the inside of the shop too. Posh and her friends bought many items, including clothes, antiques, decorations, and handmade scarves by our resident girls Tubtim and Mouy.
“The kids at Camillian home are such a happy kids. I believe it is because they know there are people who love them and care for them, devoted staff who do such an excellent work taking care of them, great hearted volunteers who work for them, people who visit and support them. I am glad that I could spend some time with them, to share love and care. I definitely will go back again,” said Rattanamon Pam Saisangjan
It was an awesome day at Camillian Home. Many thanks for everyone who made it happen!
